​A New Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Was Appointed

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the appointment of a new Chief of the General Staff in his evening address to the nation.

“Major General Anatoliy Barhylevych was appointed as the new Chief of the General Staff on the proposal of Chief of the General Staff Oleksandr Syrskyi. This ia an experienced person who understands the tasks of this war and Ukrainian goals,” Zelenskyy said.

According to Zelenskyy, today Syrsky has chosen his deputies. The Deputy Chiefs of the General Staff have also been appointed.

“And I will sign the relevant decrees. All the guys are fighting, professional, each has clear knowledge of the frontline as well as the real needs of Ukrainian soldiers,” the President added.

It is known that Barhylevych was previously the commander of the Territorial Defense Forces.
