Troops of Ukraine’s Lyut Assault Brigade stormed a Russian trench and captured an enemy soldier during a close-quarters gun battle near Bakhmut. The Ukrainian soldiers from the ‘Tsunami’ regiment were patrolling the battlefield when they discovered the trench. Intense first-person footage shows the men jumping into the trench and proceeding with caution before they attacked. Lyut Assault Brigade is a special police force, which consists of the Safari regiment, Tsunami and Luhansk-1 Battalions. Myrotvorets, Skif and Zakhid police battalions also joined Lyut at the start of 2023 – their motto, Lyut Brigade means ‘turn your rage into a weapon’. The Brigades targeted enemy soldiers during the summer as they attempted to win back positions taken by Russians.
