Greece Prepares to Transfer S-300 Missile Systems to Ukraine: What Will Be Received in Return?
The Greek newspaper Kathimerini reported that the country is preparing to transfer S-300 long-range surface-to-air missile systems to Ukraine.
“Greece agreed to transfer its old Soviet-made military equipment to Ukraine after U.S. requests,” Kathimerini indicated.

It is noted that Greece’s arsenal includes examples of the Tor and Osa short-range mobile air defense systems, as well as ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft guns, along with ammunition for all the mentioned weapon systems.
The newspaper noted that Greece approved the transfer of the S-300 as a condition for the United States approving the sale of F-35A stealth fighters to Athens.
According to the report, the U.S. State Department approved the sale of 40 F-35 fighter jets to Greece for a total of 8.6 billion dollars.
Previously, Greece hesitated to offer its operational S-300 systems to Ukraine. However, it appears that the promise of fifth-generation fighters from the U.S. government may finally have led to a change of stance.
