On the morning of September 14, 2024, reports emerged that 16 russian ships were present in the Black Sea, including 7 carriers of the Kalibr missiles. This marked the highest number of missile carriers deployed in recent times, prompting warnings to Ukrainians of potential high-precision strikes. According to the Ukrainian Navy, these Kalibr-equipped vessels, comprizing both submarines and surface ships, are capable of launching up to 48 missiles. This formidable firepower represents nearly full missile-launching capacity of russia’s Black Sea Fleet.
While the Sea of Azov remains calm with no military activity, in the Mediterranean Sea, 5 russian ships have also been spotted, 4 of which are armed with the Kalibr missiles, adding the potential for additional 24 missile launches.
