According to the General Command of the Branches of the Armed Forces, tanks from the 9. Armored Cavalry Brigade are going to the training ground.
Recently, a delivery of K2 Black Panther tanks has arrived in Poland. Currently, our land forces have 98 vehicles of this type out of 180 ordered. Most of the machines will power the 16. Mechanized Division, including the 9. Armored Cavalry Brigade from Braniewo.
According to the General Carriage of the Armed Forces, the tanks that have recently been in service with the 9. In March, the Armored Cavalry Brigade will go to the training ground in Orzysz, where the crews will train on the new equipment.
Currently, the main type of tank in the Braniewo brigade is still the PT-91 Twardy tanks. The purchase of 180 K2 tanks means that with the current structures, it will be possible to rearm three tank battalions with the 16. Mechanized Division.
Currently, the division has a total of four tank battalions, so until more tanks are bought, one of the battalions will have to remain armed with PT-91 tanks. Unless there are changes in the structures and the battalions are reduced from 58 to 44 machines.
In this case, out of 180 K2 tanks, it will be possible to form four tank battalions, and 4 machines will be delegated to training.
