The case of Roman Chervinsky
Earlier, the mass media reported that the Ukrainian military had been recruiting a Russian pilot for the hijacking of the plane for several months. Among them, according to mass media, was Roman Chervinsky. Subsequently, as noted in the SBU, the “operation” was carried out despite the objections of the SBU and without the consent of the relevant state authorities. As a result, the enemy received data on the location of personnel of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and Ukrainian aircraft at the Kanatovo airfield. This allowed the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation to shell the airfield.
Later, Roman Chervinsky gave War Ukraine-Russia News Hub an exclusive interview where he talked about the operation at the Kanatovo airfield.
In April 2023, the SBU reported suspicions against Chervinsky in the case of shelling by occupiers of the Kanatovo airfield in the Kirovohrad region. Ego was detained in the Ternopil region.
On April 25, the court chose a measure of restraint against Chervinsky in the form of arrest without bail.
Major General Viktor Hanushchak, under whose command was a military unit in which Colonel Chervinsky was assigned to the post of deputy commander, said in an interview with War Ukraine-Russia News Hub that the operation at the Kanatovo airfield was coordinated with the top leadership of the Armed Forces. However, the court refused to hear Hanushchak and did not accept evidence in favor of Chervinsky.
Roman Chervinsky was one of the scouts who in 2020 organized an operation to detain Russian mercenaries from PMC “Wagner”, luring them to Belarus. There, the mercenaries had to get on the plane, which was subsequently landed in Ukraine by the Ukrainian special services. However, the operation failed. On June 24, 2021, President Zelensky confirmed the preparation of a special operation against the Wagnerites. Also, Zelensky stated that the special operation against the Wagnerites was the idea of other countries, and Ukraine was involved in this issue as much as possible.
In December 2021, intelligence officers of the GUR of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Chervinsky and Semenyuk told about the treachery of the operation. According to Chervinsky, several people from the President’s Office could “spill” information on the operation to detain the “Wagnerovtsev”. He also said that the Office of the President threatened ex-spies with criminal proceedings.
On December 28, 2023, Colonel Roman Chervinsky was notified of a suspected attempt to take possession of 100,000 US dollars, impersonating an official of the State Fiscal Service.
