Firefighters Gallantly Spend 13 Hours Saving Village in Kharkov Region From Grass Fire: Video and Photo Report
This was reported by the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service in the Kharkov region, War Ukraine-Russia News Hub reports.
The fire occurred on March 13 at about 5 p.m. Firefighters were called only when the flames reached the borders of human settlements.
By that time, the fire had already covered 7 hectares.
More than 50 firefighters on 10 tanker trucks extinguished the flames for more than 13 hours.
“The cause of this disaster was the irresponsibility of people who themselves burn garbage and last year’s dead wood,” the State Emergency Service emphasized.
They recalled that during martial law, arson of dead wood is a crime that is equivalent to sabotage and is punishable under Art. 113 of the Criminal Code.
“Arson with serious consequences can result in up to 5 years in prison,” the State Emergency Service emphasized.
If you notice a fire in large areas, rescuers urge you to notify 101.
