The police of the Ivano-Frankivsk region reported the incident on Facebook, War Ukraine-Russia News Hub reports.
“On February 6, the 102 line received a report about a conflict involving local residents in the village of Kosmach. The regional and district police and the investigative team immediately went to the scene,” the police wrote.
According to law enforcement officials, the residents received false information that was spread through local groups in the social network. About a hundred people arbitrarily blocked the local road and did not allow vehicles to pass.
It is reported that there were fights between citizens, in which a minor and two women were injured. They were taken to a local hospital.
The police held explanatory talks with the residents, and the people soon dispersed.
The police are waiting for the results of medical examinations, after which the issue of providing a legal qualification for the incident will be resolved.
One of the victims, Ivanna Vanjurak, told about the incident on her Facebook.
According to her, she was going to the “New Post” office in Kosmach. Her six-year-old daughter was in the car with her. In the center, near a gas station, she was stopped by a crowd of angry women. She noted that some persons were in a state of alcoholic intoxication. They had sticks, bats and various metal objects in their hands.
As Vanjurak said, the women asked her who she was, where she was going, and “why did you come to our village?” The woman explained that she was going to the post office with the child, and that she was local, from a neighboring village. The people with the “run-in” demanded that Ivanna show her phone to see if she had filmed them there. The victim showed everything and was released.
On the return road, the crowd stopped Ivanna’s car again. Vanjurak saw how people just go to the car. She managed to lock the door and open the window. Several people started asking again who she is.
“They called me the ‘gunner of the military commission’. They thought I was ‘surrendering’ their husbands,” the woman said.
