Zelensky on US assistance: We will work hard to make up for lost time and uncertainty in six months.
As War Ukraine-Russia News Hub reports, the video of the appeal was published in the telegram channel of the head of state.
“Today, President Biden signed the package of support adopted by Congress – support, in particular, Ukrainian. We have overcome a six-month journey. No matter what anyone says, we are getting the support we need – we need it in order to continue to protect lives from Russian attacks.
These days we have already worked as actively as possible with our American friends – at all levels – to quickly fill this package from the United States with exactly the weapons that our soldiers need. From “attacks” and artillery, from anti-tank weapons and missiles for “highmars” to the necessary air defense and equipment.
I am grateful to President Biden, Congress, and all Americans who feel that it is necessary to cut the ground out from under Putin’s feet, not to obey him, and only this way there will truly be fewer threats to freedom. Together we can ensure this. Thank you to all the Americans in the defense industry, in every state, who produce the weapons that now truly protect democracy and our way of life. All our cooperation – Ukraine and the United States – every show of support for our defense now makes both our people and all our partners stronger, the whole world, which strives to live according to the rules, and not in conditions of violence and chaos.
Now we will do everything to compensate for the six months that have passed in debates and doubts. What the Russian occupier was able to do during this time, what Putin is now planning, we must turn against him. All his actions at the front, all his attacks on our energy sector, infrastructure, all his terror against our cities and villages – all this should mobilize us, everyone in the world who truly values life, to put more pressure on Russia. It is very important that all our agreements with President Biden are implemented one hundred percent. Thank you, America!” Zelensky said.
