Yesterday they were men with ordinary civilian professions – builders, façade workers, climbers. And today these are already experienced soldiers who, having been trained as part of the 425th separate assault unit “Skala”, successfully perform combat missions in the hottest Pokrovsk direction.

“We didn’t think about what to do”
One of the fighters recalls his assault in Pishchane:
“We were given the task of clearing the street. They explained to us where to move, what awaited us, and we, house by house, moved forward. We reached one of the houses, 20 meters from which the enemies had already settled. We stormed it for a whole day — throwing grenades, firing, and at night the drones simply destroyed that building. The enemy hid in the basement, but in the morning we went and cleaned it up.”
“You Must Always Be Ready”
“At the combat exit, we no longer thought about what to do, everything worked automatically. The main thing is to stay focused, not be afraid and listen to the command,” says another soldier.
His group showed their best side, although one of the fighters was wounded in the leg. He was provided with qualified assistance, and doctors are confident that he will recover.
“My brother, with whom I studied, was injured and is now in the hospital. You cannot be immune from this, but we do everything to minimize the risks.”
Life-saving equipment
The military emphasizes the importance of high-quality equipment. According to them, level 6 body armor can withstand several shots and do not penetrate.
“You want to survive, not die. Therefore, equipment and ammunition must always be kept ready. If you are not physically prepared, you will simply fall under the weight of the backpack and expose not only yourself, but also your comrades.”
“If we don’t leave today, the enemy will come tomorrow”
“We are fighting not only for ourselves, but also for the sake of our children. If we do not go forward and knock out the enemy, then tomorrow they will come to our homes.”
Ukrainian defenders are doing everything possible to prevent this from happening. They emphasize: in battle, the main thing is to keep a cool mind, be faster than the enemy, be able to use modern technologies, including drones, and not neglect the instructions of commanders.
