Ukraine’s Defence Forces have hit three Russian Buk-M2 missile systems on the Donetsk front in a week. Press service of Special Operations Forces said this.
The press service noted that the Russian army lost three Buk-M2 missile systems with two 9C36 detection and targeting stations on the Donetsk front in a week, thanks to the professional actions of Special Operations Forces operators.
Operators from the Special Operations Forces’s 3rd Separate Special Forces regiment detected and adjusted the fire of Defence Forces’ missile and artillery units on Russian targets.
“As a result of fire, one missile system was completely destroyed, two more were disabled and cannot be restored. The hunt for enemy targets continues!”, Special Operations Forces said.
This air defense system can engage tactical and strategic aircraft, helicopters, short-range ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, air-launched missiles, anti-radiation missiles, guided bombs and other aerodynamic vehicles. It is claimed that this system has advanced hardware and can operate in heavy enemy jamming conditions. The Buk M2E surface-to-air missile system uses an 9M317 solid fuel missile. This missile was first used on older Buk M1-2, that was adopted by the Russian armed forces in 1998. This missile has a maximum range of 45 km and altitude of 25 km against aircraft.
