Рowerful Explosion Rang Out Near Izhevsk Close to russia’s Important Military Enterprise Manufacturing ICBMs
russian media reported about an explosion near a military training ground close to city of Izhevsk. At the same time, local residents published footage of a huge pillar of fire that was visible kilometers away from the scene.
According to russian media, local residents believe that the explosion occurred at the military training ground near the village of Yagul. It is known that the Votkinsk Machine Building Plant, which produces military and civilian products, is located not far from the training ground. So, there is an assumption that the explosion is related to testing of rocket engines.

Later, russian Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that technical work at the Votkinsk machine-building plant had caused the explosion, which frightened residents of nearby settlements of Udmurtia.
JSC Votkinsk Machine Building Plant is a machine and ballistic missile production enterprise based in Republic of Udmurtia, russia. Its production includes the RS-24 Yars intercontinental ballistic missile, russia’s most recent ICBM development, as well as the submarine-launched Bulava SLBM. The company has two separate facilities: a final assembly plant located some 12 kilometers outside of Votkinsk where missiles are assembled, and the main plant, located in downtown Votkinsk, where missile components as well as civil and consumer goods are produced.
