This was reported by 24tv.ua with reference to the head of the communications department of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yuri Ignat, on the air of a telethon.

The representative of the Air Force of Ukraine noted that the data has not yet been officially published, as the count is ongoing, because the russians have launched a large number of air attack weapons over Ukraine.

According to preliminary data, 407 drones and 44 missiles attacked Ukraine during the night. Yuri Ignat noted that this is another record for the number of weapons used.

“Today there were both ballistics and air- and ground-based cruise missiles, as well as a large number of strike UAVs and simulator drones. In total, the russians used 407 strike UAVs today on the territory of our state. We also have data on the enemy’s use of 6 ballistic missiles as well as 38 cruise missiles, most of them were destroyed. Approximately 30 missiles were destroyed. We also have up to 200 strikes on strike drones,” said the head of the communications department of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to him, official information will be published after an accurate count.

The attack was carried out mainly from the northern regions. Most of the drones flew in from the russian federation through Sumy, Kharkiv, Chernihiv regions and flew to the western regions.

Anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare systems, and aircraft, in particular, F-16s and Mirages, were involved in repelling the attack. This ensured a high result in terms of the number of downed targets.

The russians used Tu-95s and Tu-160s from the Saratov region over the Caspian Sea for the attack. Yuriy Ignat noted that the Security Service of Ukraine, which attacked airfields where russian strategic bombers were based this weekend, did reduce the potential of russian strategic aviation.

Before this attack, there was talk on the Internet that the so-called president of the russian federation, vladimir putin, had allegedly ordered a response for the strikes on strategic aviation. However, on the night of June 6, russia launched a massive strike on Ukraine, as a result of which people died in Kyiv and civilian infrastructure was damaged in various regions. In particular, russian terrorists struck civilian facilities in Kyiv region and in the city of Kyiv, as well as Ternopil, Volyn, Poltava, and Chernihiv regions.

Later, the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces published official information about the russian attack.

According to the official report, on the night of June 6 (from 20:00 on June 5), the enemy attacked with 452 air attack vehicles:

– 407 Shahed strike UAVs and simulator drones of various types from the directions: Kursk, Orel, Millerovo, Shatalovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk – russia, Gvardiyskoe – occupied Crimea;

– 6 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles from Kursk and Voronezh regions – russia;

– 36 Kh-101 cruise missiles from Tu-95MS/Tu-160MS strategic aircraft from the airspace of the Saratov region, over the Caspian Sea;

– 2 Iskander-K cruise missiles from the Dzhankoy on occupied Crimea;

– 1 Kh-31P anti-radar missile from a tactical aircraft over the Black Sea.

The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

According to preliminary data, as of 10:00, air defense neutralized 406 enemy air attack vehicles throughout the country:

– 199 enemy Shahed UAVs (other types of UAVs) were shot down by fire, 169 were lost/suppressed by electronic warfare;

– 4 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles, two more did not reach their targets (lost in location);

– 30 Kh-101 cruise missiles;

– 2 Iskander-K cruise missiles.

Enemy air attack vehicles were hit in 13 locations, and downed aircraft (fragments) fell in 19 locations.

According to updated data, 3 rescuers were killed and 22 others were injured in the attack on the capital of Ukraine last night:

Ukrainian officials condemned russia’s actions, calling them terrorist, as well as called for an international response to the systematic shelling of Ukraine’s civilian infrastructure.
