The Ukrainian cruise missile “Neptune” in the version for strikes on ground targets has already been used to strike targets directly on the territory of the Russian Federation – we are talking about a missile with a range of 1000 km, this conclusion can be drawn from the published post of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

“There were also reports on our missile program today. We have significant results. The “Long Neptune” has been tested and successfully used in combat. New Ukrainian missile, precision strike. The distance is a thousand kilometers. Thank you to our Ukrainian developers, manufacturers, and military. We continue to work to guarantee Ukrainian security,” the president said.

First Combat Deployment of the Long Neptune Revealed Following 2023 Introduction

More details about the “long Neptune” have not yet been made public, in particular regarding the pace of production of these missiles and in which episodes this missile was used to strike the Rashists. At the same time, it can be mentioned here that in November 2024, Zelenskyy announced the crossing of the mark of “the first hundred units of missile weapons”.

In general, it is worth mentioning, first of all, that the fact that Ukraine is working on the “long Neptune” became known at the end of 2023, when the Deputy Head of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Ivan Gavryliuk, noted without details that work was underway on a new modification of the missile for the Neptune complex, at the same time it received the unofficial designation of the “long Neptune”.

And earlier, in the summer of the same year, information was published in the media that the Defense Forces of Ukraine were already using a modified Neptune, which has a range of 400 km and a warhead of 350 kg, for strikes against the Ruscists – allegedly it was the modified Neptune that was used to destroy the Russian S-400 anti-aircraft missile system in the temporarily occupied Crimea in August 2023.

In general, the Neptune cruise missile has been repeatedly used by our troops to strike at the Rashists and directly at targets on the territory of the Russian Federation.

So, at the end of last year, we talked about what data there is on the use of Neptune missiles against ground targets of the Russian Federation in 2024, and among the objects hit by our cruise missile are such targets as a storage base for Shahed-type attack drones near the Eysk airfield and a storage base for equipment of the Russian occupation forces near Kursk.
