France delivered two M270 LRU multiple rocket launchers to the Defense Forces of Ukraine. This was reported by the Ministry of the Armed Forces of France.

French General Jean-Michel Guilloton headed the “Artillery for Ukraine” coalition, which was launched on January 18 by Minister of Armed Forces Sebastien Lecornu. During the briefing, he presented the coalition, the purpose of which is to strengthen military support for Kyiv.

“The stabilization of the Ukrainian front requires an increase in artillery to attack the enemy. In addition, there is a new phenomenon in global conflicts: the ability to deep strike. Today, artillery consists not only of guns and mortars, but also of long-range missile launchers, some systems of which can reach 150 kilometers. – said the new leader of the Artillery Coalition.

In addition, he added that France has transferred two M270 LRUs to the Armed Forces.

The M270 LRU is the French version of the American Vought Bradley Tracked Multiple Launch System (LMRS) (M270 MLRS). This combat vehicle is very similar to the M142 HIMARS. But the M270 has a tracked chassis and 12 tracks instead of 6.
