Hrynkevich’s Son Arrested in Odesa
In Odesa, the fifth member of the criminal organization, which supplied poor-quality clothing for the Armed Forces for 1 billion hryvnias, was detained. This was announced by the Prosecutor General’s Office on Monday, January 22.
As the SBI clarifies, we are talking about the son of Lviv businessman Igor Hrynkevich – Roman Hrynkevich.
It is stated that the person involved in the high-profile case was detained in Odesa at 6:50 a.m. while organizing a trip outside Ukraine.
“According to the investigation, the suspect left for Odesa approximately on January 17 and since that time was preparing to cross the state border and leave the country. On January 19, at the request of prosecutors, the court granted permission for his detention. Currently, the issue of selecting a preventive measure for the detainee is being resolved. The other four suspects are in custody,” the report said.
It will be recalled that on January 18, the SBI issued a wanted list for Roman Hrynkevich, the son of the main figure in the case, Ihor Hrynkevich. He is suspected of fraud and participation in a criminal group.
As you know, at the end of December 2023, the SBI detained one of the largest suppliers of the Ministry of Defense – Lviv businessman Ihor Hrynkevich. He offered 500,000 dollars to one of the heads of the Main Investigative Department of the SBI. For this, the entrepreneur wanted “assistance” in the return of property seized from companies controlled by him during the investigation of criminal proceedings.
The SBI instituted several criminal proceedings on the fact of irregularities in the procurement of clothing and underwear for the Armed Forces. The businessman’s companies won 23 tenders for supplying the Ministry of Defense with clothing for 1.5 billion hryvnias.
The Ministry of Defense terminated the contracts concluded with Hrynkevich. The property of the businessman’s family and controlled companies has been seized. Among the seized property are 17 residential real estate objects, 7 non-residential real estate objects, 18 land plots, 9 premium class cars, shares in the authorized capital of UAH 14.73 million; 12 weapons; 3 objects of intellectual property.
Ukrainian artist Sonia Morozyuk will not marry Roman Hrynkevich, whose father is suspected of corruption while working for the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. She announced this a few days ago on Instagram.
“I remain Sonya Morozyuk. We will not be one family. I will not take the surname Hrynkevich. I will not be with a person who betrayed my country. I will remain Sonya Morozyuk,” said the artist.
She published a photo of her hand without a wedding ring. And she also added that she would sell the jewelry given by Roman, and transfer the money received to the Armed Forces.
“During our relationship, I received two gifts from Roman – a ring and a necklace. I will sell these things, and the funds will go to the Armed Forces (I will write how it will happen later). All suspicions that I allegedly received something else from Roman or members of his family – apartments, cars, real estate, anything – I reject, and I am ready to prove it in court and in any way,” added Morozyuk.
As is known, Hrynkevich was admitted to Morozyuk in October 2023 in Venice. Earlier, journalist Yevhen Plinsky reported that Hrynkevich is investing a lot of money in the career of his future wife.
Now Morozyuk noted that she achieved everything on her own, and was in a “state of shock” after accusations that her fiancé was “involved in some deals.”
