A video from February this year appeared on the network, in which you can see that the Russian occupation army is probably using or planning to use ATS-59G tractors on the battlefield as a kind of ersatz transporters – for example, in the video that Andrei Tarasenko (btvt.info) drew attention to, you can see at least two ATS-59G vehicles.
One of these vehicles is armed with improvised protection against drones, the other is actually converted into an infantry transporter on the principle of a “turtle” – a metal frame, screens and a mesh. Also in the video you can see two main battle tanks T-72B3 and T-80U.
It is not yet clear how massive this phenomenon is in the Russian troops, but in any case, the enemy has serious losses in equipment and is trying to close the gaps in one way or another.
In general, this is not the first time that ATS-59G tractors appear in photos or videos, both as a “transporter” and with weapons.
So, back in 2023, we talked about the fact that the ruscists armed ATS-59G tractors with 2M-3M shipboard anti-aircraft guns
.
Also in 2024, ATS-59G vehicles appeared in “turtle machine” versions.
