Poland and Slovakia deepen defensive cooperation – earlier this week it became known that with the participation of the heads of defense agencies of these two countries, a protocol on intentions to strengthen cooperation in the defense sector was signed.

Defense ministers have negotiated and identified areas of future cooperation that cover four main areas – ammunition, armored vehicles, including major combat tanks, as well as air defense.

First of all, it is that Warsaw and Bratislava want to produce artillery ammunition together, and above all – 155 -mm shells. Thus, the Viceremier of Poland Kosinyak-Kaysh emphasized “huge production facilities” Slovakia.

For example, from last year’s news, it can be remembered that the local ZVS Holding company held an official opening of a new line for the production of 155 mm artillery ammunition in the fall. In addition, Bratislava previously reported expansion of ammunition facilities in the framework of the Czech initiative, which provides for the supply of shells of Ukraine.

As for armored vehicles, there is first and foremost the interest of Slovakia, as the deputy head of the defense department Robert Kalinyak, it is about the main combat tanks of K2, more precisely about the polonized version of K2PL – we recall that in 2023, in Poland, there were quite a short time in Poland. In total, Poland planned to build 820 tanks, it is clear that the number could be changed.

Another project in the direction of armored vehicles is an armored vehicle on the basis of the Polish Rosomak (these machines are also in service with the Defense Forces of Ukraine), on the part of Slovakia a probable future armored vehicle may be armed with a remote control module called Tuura 30 from EVPú.

In the end, Slovakia also has an interest in the Polish portable Piorun anti -aircraft missile systems, these MAZRCs have positively proven themselves in Ukraine and ultimately PGZ received a number of orders from other countries, among the latest news, for example, these complexes were even interested in Brazil.

Earlier, News Hub said that Slovakia instead of T-72 wants light tanks based on CV90 with a 120-mm gun, but this is a questionable choice.
