South Korean Intelligence Reports North Korean Special Forces Sent to russia to Participate in the War Against Ukraine
“In early August, the NIS found that the Deputy Chief of the Workers’ Party of Korea Munitions Industry Department, a key figure in North Korea’s missile development, Kim Jong Sik visited the North Korean KN-23 missile range near the russian-Ukrainian front with dozens of North Korean military officers several times and gave instructions on the spot,” the NIS press service stated.
It is reported that South Korean intelligence recorded the transportation of DPRK soldiers on October 8-13. They were sent to Vladivostok by ship from the Cheongjin, Hamhin, and Musudan regions. Currently, the soldiers are being trained at military bases in Vladivostok, Ussuriysk, Khabarovsk and Blagoveshchensk. Then they will be sent to the front in Ukraine.
It also emphasizes that russia will try to conceal the DPRK’s participation in the war. North Korean military personnel have been issued Russian uniforms and weapons, as well as fake identification documents of residents of Yakutia and Buryatia. Most likely, the DPRK will soon send another batch of its military to russia.
The report quotes an unnamed NIS representative. He said that the suspicion of “direct military cooperation between russia and North Korea,” which was reported by foreign media, has been officially confirmed.
“We will continue to monitor and confirm the progress of russian-North Korean military cooperation through close intelligence cooperation with our allies,” the NIS representative added.
Earlier War Ukraine-Russia News Hub reported that North Korean troops would start fighting in Ukraine using russian equipment by November 1.
