The main goal of Russian troops in Ukraine remains the capture of the city of Avdiyivka in Donetsk region. The invaders are attacking from three directions to surround the settlement from the south, north and east.
This is stated in the publication of analysts of the Intelligence Department of the Ministry of Defense of Great Britain on the X network.
Russian troops suffered significant losses in personnel and armored vehicles. A large number of them were struck by Ukrainian drones.
Despite an attempt to penetrate the rear of Ukrainian positions in the city of Avdiyivka through tunnels, Ukrainian counterattacks deter Russian forces from further advancing within the city.
“The main supply route to Avdiivka remains intact. Ukrainian forces carry out local counterattacks. The city is likely to remain under Ukrainian control for the coming weeks,” the British intelligence review said.
The publication also recalled the Russian Federation’s statements about the capture of the village of Krokhmalne in the Kharkiv region and the village of Vesele near Bakhmut, but stated that “they are strategically insignificant.”
“The pre-war population of Vesely was 102 people, and Krokhmalny – 45. This is a continuation of Russia’s slight advance, while Ukraine focuses on active defense,” the analysts added.
According to the information of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in the area of responsibility of the “Tavriya” air defense system in the Avdiyivka direction, the Defense Forces repelled 20 attacks by invaders in the vicinity of Novobakhmutivka, Stepovoy, and Avdiivka during the past 24 hours.
Today, “Ukraine-Russia News Hub” published a video where Ukrainian soldiers of the 110th separate mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled a powerful assault of the invaders near the city of Avdiyivka, burning several units of enemy armored vehicles.
