During February 2025, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine codified and admitted to operation in the Defense Forces of Ukraine over 100 new samples of weapons and military equipment. Of these, over 90 percent are domestically produced

This is reported by the official portal of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

For comparison, last year, about 60 weapons and military equipment samples were codified during the same period, and only about a third of them were of Ukrainian production.

Among the new samples of weapons and military equipment that underwent codification in February2025, in particular, unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), ammunition for them, electronic warfare systems, CBRN means, automotive equipment, aviation equipment, etc.

Since the beginning of the year, more than 10 new samples ofUAS with a fiber-optic control channel have already been codified and approved for operation in the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

“Innovative weapons are rapidly changing the picture of war. Aerial drones provide reconnaissance, situational control of the battlefield, and themselves act as means of destroying enemy targets. Currently, drones worth $500 are destroying enemy targets worth tens, or even hundreds of thousands of dollars,” Deputy Defense Minister Valery Churkin said.

According to Valery Churkin, in order to effectively combat a resource-intensive aggressor country, we must achieve dominance in the development of new instruments of war as well as their scaling.

“We must win the technological race against the enemy. Ukrainian drones, electronic warfare systems, means of reconnaissance, as well as weapons of destruction must surpass enemy models in terms of their performance characteristics. The arithmetic of war in our case is about increasing lethality and the efficiency of the means using,” the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine added.

As War News Hub reported, Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense approved over 600 new domestically made weapon systems in 2024.
