Ukrainian Armor’s Annual Capacity Reaches 240,000 Mines and 1,200 Mortars

Ukrainian Armor currently manufactures approximately 20,000 mortar mines and around 100 mortars of various calibers each month. Vladislav Belbas, the CEO, shared this information in an interview with ABC News. Ukrainian Armor gained access to several industrial hangars in an undisclosed location in Ukraine. Consequently, the company’s annual production capacity stands at 240,000 mines and 1,200 mortars of different calibers.

Regarding mortar production, notable developments emerged in mid-November when the company disclosed the quantity of mortars dispatched. During that period, it was highlighted that since February 2022, Ukrainian Armor has supplied over 1,000 mortars (60 mm, 82 mm and 120 mm) to the Ukrainian army. In contrast, prior to the full-scale invasion, the company was manufacturing only several hundred mortars annually or a few dozen per month. This signifies a substantial surge in mortar production, accompanied by an uptick in orders for this weaponry.

Turning to mortar mines, it should be recalled that in August of the previous year, the company announced its collaboration with two NATO countries in producing 120 mm mines for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Ukrainian Armor emphasized the utilization of modern technologies in production, ensuring that the mines fully adhere to NATO standards.

In the ABC News interview, the Ukrainian Armor’s CEO reminded the gravity of missile and drone threats posed by the russian occupation forces. The company is strategically dispersing its production facilities across multiple locations to mitigate the impact of potential enemy strikes. Vladislav Belbas emphasized, “Every time they attack, we need to ensure that only a limited portion of our production facilities will be affected.”
