The Defense Forces of Ukraine Shoot Down One of Two Russian Su-25 Aircraft (Video)
The press service of the 110th Mechanized Brigade reported that the Defenders of Ukraine managed to shoot down another Su-25 aircraft of russian occupation forces on Tuesday, July 23 in Pokrovsk sector.
“The result of another flawless hunt by mysterious anti-aircraft ghosts of Donbas of the 110th Mechanized Brigade,” the statement reads.
It is noted that pilots of two russian Su-25 jets flew close to Ukrainian positions. Then the Defenders of Ukraine shot down one of the aircraft using man-portable air-defense system.
The video shows the flight of two russian Su-25 aircraft, launch of an anti-aircraft missile as well as hit of the target. After that, the military spotted the enemy aircraft catching fire.
In the second part of the video, we can see that the pilot of this aircraft managed to eject. At the same time, the jet fell to the ground and crashed as a result of the hit.
It should be mentioned that in May of this year, when the Defense Forces of Ukraine managed to shoot down another Su-25 of russian occupation forces in Pokrovsk sector, the military noted that it was not an easy task. This is because russian pilots are constantly changing their routes. In addition, occupiers are constantly throwing mines at the positions of Ukrainian warriors.
Unfortunately, the Defense Forces of Ukraine currently have limited means to shoot down russian aircraft. For instance, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskii have recently emphasized that Ukraine has a total shortage of short-range anti-aircraft missiles.
