The presence of North Korean troops in the area is believed to bolster russian military strength in Kursk region by up to 25%. EL PAÍS reports that russia has deployed approximately 40,000 troops to defend the region, with half of these being new recruits with limited combat experience. North Korean soldiers have reportedly been added to strengthen these ranks.
