Tankers from the 1. Armoured Brigade, stationed in Wesoła near Warsaw, set off to train at the Żagań training ground.

According to the 18. Mechanized Division, under which the 1. Armoured Brigade, tankers from the 1. Tank Battalion, whose main armament consists of 58 tanks M1A1FEP, were transferred to Żagań, in order to train at the local training ground. Żagań is a place of permanent dislocation of the 34. Armored Cavalry Brigade, which is currently gradually being re-armed with Leopard 2PL and Leopard 2A5 tanks, which previously served in the 1. Armored Brigade.

Currently, the brigade in Żagań has returned to Leopard 2 tanks, which were previously in service with soldiers from the 1. Tank Battalion in Wesoła. The Żagań-Świętoszów complex is one of the largest in Poland, it is a place of permanent dislocation for the two main brigades, of which the 11. Armored Cavalry Division, i.e. the 10th and 34. Armored Cavalry Brigade. The complex also houses subunits of the U.S. Army brigades deployed in Poland.

This type of transfer and subsequent field training are an excellent test for both tank crews and military logisticians. At the training ground in Żagań itself, tankers will be able to both train in the tactics of using armored equipment, as well as fire from tank armament, including M256 120 mm smoothbore cannons, and three machine guns, two M240 7.62 mm and one M48 12.7 mm (M48 is a variant of the M2 machine gun, which is adapted to be mounted in CWS and SCWS mounts).
