A video published by Sudanese rebels appeared on the Internet. Their tactical unmanned aerial vehicle accurately bombed the government Su-24 bomber.

The Sudanese bomber was parked near the hangar at the base in Omdurman and was probably hit by a large armed tactical drone.

#Sudan 🇸🇩: Rapid Support Forces (#RSF) destroyed a Sukhoi Su-24 supersonic tactical bomber belonging to Sudanese Air Forces (#SAF) in #Omdurman, #Khartoum.

As a result of the missile impact, the machine caught fire, and when it was on fire, it received a second hit, as a result of which there was a large explosion, which certainly led to the complete destruction of the plane.

Commentators point out that the Chinese Feihong FH-95 UAV could have been used in the attack. At least several such machines are to be used by Sudanese rebels from the so-called Rapid Support Forces.

The civil war in Sudan has been ongoing since 2023 and is associated with a huge number of casualties, which may have exceeded even half a million people.

It was also associated with great losses among the aircraft owned by the Sudanese Armed Forces. These were mainly Russian-made machines (including MiG-29, Su-25, MiG-21, MiG-23), but also Chinese (including JL-9 and JL-8 combat trainers).

At the beginning of 2025, the number of Sudanese Su-24s was estimated at seven. These machines probably come from Belarusian surplus, i.e. planes withdrawn in 2012.
