Col. pil. Łukasz Piątek ceases to be the Commander of the 31. Tactical Air Base named after Capt. pil. Franciszek Jach. From now on, he is to be associated with the 4. Training Aviation Wing in Dęblin.
After 11 years of service in Krzesiny, Col. pil. Łukasz Piątek says goodbye to the 31. Tactical Air Base, which he commanded for nearly the last four years (exactly since July 14, 2021, when he was replaced by Col. pil. Norbert Chojnacki).
“The last four years, when I had the honour and privilege to command the unit, were the most developing, uplifting and full of unforgettable experiences. Commanding a unit teaches humility, teaches that the commander is there for the soldiers and not the other way around, teaches responsibility for every aspect of the Base’s activity and the service of soldiers and employees. Such experience cannot be gained in any other position (…)” – the commander wrote in his farewell on his Facebook profile.
The 1st Tactical Air Base is an air unit designed to carry out combat tasks within the national defense system and forces capable of deploying high NATO readiness.
The Air Squadrons carry out tasks to combat air targets, destroy ground and surface objects and perform aviation tasks at the operational and tactical level.
