russians Present So Called Drone-Killer System in Saudi Arabia

Asian military review reports that modernized Komar 3M47-03E ship-based missile system was presented by russians.

The new version of the Komar system is armed not only with the 9K338 Igla-S surface-to-air missile, but also with the 9M120 Ataka anti-tank guided missile. This system can engage low-flying aircraft, UAVs as well as sea drones.

russians say that they were trying to strengthen the naval capabilities, especially after the Black Sea fleet was successfully attacked by Ukrainian naval drones multiple times.

According to the engineers of the terrorist state, the Komar system is distinguished by its lightweight and compact design. Weight of the launcher is less than 1,5 tons, which allows it to be installed on small boats or ships. Reaction time of its launcher is 8 seconds.

Operators of this system can visually detect aircraft at a distance of up to 15 kilometers and anti-ship missiles at a distance of up to 8 kilometers. The system also demonstrates flexibility in operation. It can contain from one to four universal launch modules. Each of them is capable to hold two missiles.

russian aggressors note that according to the system’s technical characteristics, the Komar can hit targets at altitudes of 0.01 to 3.5 kilometers as well as at distances of 0.5 to 6 kilometers. The system can intercept targets that move at speeds up to 400 m/s and pursue targets that move at speeds up to 320 m/s. The aiming area covers an azimuth of ±165 degrees as well as altitude of -20 to +70 degrees.

But despite the fact that russians are boasting about their products again, practice shows that presented characteristics of this product can differ significantly from what it can show in real combat use.

Earlier War Ukraine-Russia News Hub reported about new wheeled chassis that would give mobility to the russian Serp EW system.
