During the past day, the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed 51 Russian artillery pieces in the combat zone.

Such a record number of liquidated artillery systems is indicated in the summary of the General Staff of the Armed Forces.

Previously, this indicator was the largest in June of last year, when 44 artillery systems were destroyed in a day. There was a day in September when Ukrainian troops destroyed 42 Russian artillery systems. This is a rather broad concept, covering mortars, guns and self-propelled artillery installations.

In general, over the previous year, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Russian occupying forces lost more than 8,100 units of artillery in Ukraine. However, the Russians still had approximately 4,500 artillery systems in the combat zone in Ukraine.

During 2023, several records were set for the destruction of Russian artillery. First, it was June, when the Defense Forces of Ukraine eliminated 688 systems, in August – 691 artillery systems, and in September, in general, an absolute record in the modern history of wars and conflicts was set – 947 units.

From March 2022 to April last year, an average of 200 artillery systems of the Russian occupying forces were destroyed every month.

We will remind that in order to support the potential of Ukrainian artillery, France led an artillery coalition to help Ukraine. Another 22 countries joined the initiative. This year, France will send dozens of advanced CAESAR self-propelled artillery units and ammunition to the front.

Earlier, “Ukraine-Russia News Hub” wrote that Ukrainian defenders destroyed the 2S7M “Malka” self-propelled guns. The Defense Forces of Southern Ukraine announced the liquidation of the “world’s most powerful gun”.

Before that, the special forces of the Special Operations Center “A” unit of the SBU used an FPV drone to destroy a powerful enemy 152-mm self-propelled gun 2C19 “Msta-S” on the left bank of the Kherson region.
