The Ukrainian Armed Forces Rank Among Europe’s Top Five Most Powerful Armies
The Armed Forces of Ukraine are among the top five strongest armies in Europe. This is evidenced by the data of the Global Firepower rating on Sunday, January 28.
In the updated ranking of European countries, the Armed Forces of Ukraine even surpassed Germany, which provides large volumes of military aid to Ukraine. Ukrainians are surpassed only by the armies of Great Britain, Italy and France.
The authors of the rating note that the power of the Ukrainian army is being strengthened financially and materially thanks to the support of Western allies, in particular the USA.
Analysts use more than 60 separate factors from various categories to compile the global firepower rating, including the number of military units, financial status, geography and logistical capabilities.
An ideal PwrIndx score is 0.0000. Thus, the smaller the value of PwrIndx, the “more powerful” a country’s conventional combat capability.
Earlier, on January 10, it became known that Ukraine entered the 20 most powerful armies in the world. The strongest armed forces are in the USA, and the second and third places, respectively, are in Russia and China. The Ukrainian army took 18th place in the ranking of the most powerful armies in the world, losing three positions compared to 2023. This is evidenced by the data of the international company Global Firepower, which annually compiles a rating of the best armies in the world.
The ranking of the countries of the world was made by American analysts based on the analysis of the available firepower of 145 countries of the world.
In the ranking of the best armies in the world, Ukraine was between Israel (17th place) and Germany (19th place). The power index is 0.2598, while a score of 0.0000 is considered “ideal”.
The five best armies in the world according to the rating include the USA, Russia, China, India and South Korea.
We will remind you that in 2022, Ukraine was ranked 22nd in the ranking of the world’s most powerful armies, while in 2023 it rose to 15th.
