Today, as part of the meeting in the Ramstein format, one of the main issues was the increase in the supply of long-range weapons to Ukraine. The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine informed about this while summing up the work of the contact group.
“There is a complete understanding of the partners that we need these weapons and a commitment to work on providing Ukraine with more weapons for such strikes,” the message reads.
The meeting also discussed the adaptation of anti-aircraft missiles of Western models to the Soviet launch platforms, which are at the disposal of the Defense Forces of Ukraine. As well as increasing opportunities to increase the production of ammunition and artillery systems, including in joint projects of partner countries with Ukraine.
In addition, the issue of strengthening Ukraine’s capabilities in the framework of the aviation, anti-aircraft, artillery and maritime security coalitions was discussed at the meeting.
Currently, no details of agreements on the provision of long-range weapons and other types of weapons are reported.
It will be recalled that NATO signed a contract for 1.1 billion euros for the supply of 155-mm artillery ammunition. Some of them will be delivered to Ukraine.
