The Findings of the Russian Il-76 Downing Case
Some bloggers and OSINT researchers indicate that the IL-76 destroyed today in Behorod was flying from the city, not to the city, which denies the version of the Russian Federation that there were Ukrainian prisoners of war on the plane. This, in particular, is reported by the Telegram channel “Crimean Wind”.
However, he points to the assumptions of other researchers that the plane arrived in the Russian Federation via Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Iran. This version also denies the presence of prisoners on board, but contradicts the above assumption…
At this moment, the author of these lines has seen only one official position on this matter – the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. Indeed, the exchange of prisoners was planned. But the Russian Federation is responsible for the safety of our prisoners:
“The Ukrainian side was not informed about the need to ensure the safety of the airspace in the area of the city of Belgorod in a certain period of time, as was repeatedly done in the past.”
In addition, in the past, the Russian Federation delivered our prisoners for exchange not only by airplanes, but also by trains and vehicles. How can Ukraine guess whether our prisoners are on a military target in the combat zone or not?
“The landing of a transport plane in the 30-kilometer zone of hostilities cannot be safe and in any case must be discussed by both sides, because otherwise it endangers the entire exchange process,” the GUR noted.
After all, the Russian Federation can be expected to kill our prisoners already after the event in order to pass them off as victims of the plane crash. This is the author’s guess, but without an independent expert investigation of the circumstances, it is entirely plausible.
But even if our prisoners were there… Unofficial sources from the Armed Forces of Ukraine quite logically indicate that we will continue to shoot down military transport planes of the Russian Federation, which usually bring ammunition to Belgorod, in particular, anti-aircraft guided missiles “S-300”, which the occupiers use destroy Kharkiv. Of course, if the aggressor does not give a reasoned warning that there are prisoners in the plane this time.
Therefore, in any case, Ukraine does not need to be afraid of Lavrov’s demand to hold an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council because of this catastrophe. After all, this is a war in which Ukraine is defending itself by all possible means, and this is clear to the whole world. Especially if you take into account the statement of the GUR of the IOU that the Russian Federation did not warn about the presence of prisoners on the plane.
At the same time, let’s repeat – at the moment there is no evidence that they were there. Even on the video from the place of the plane crash, which was distributed by the Russians, dozens of corpses are not visible, as it should have been…
Plus, propagandist Margarita Simonyan published a list with the names of 65 people she called prisoners who were on the plane. At the same time, it is currently established that 17 of them were definitely exchanged earlier. That is, we have a lie.
