An Algerian Su-30MKA multirole aircraft crashed in Adrar province, local portal menadefense.net reports.
The accident took place on the morning of March 18, and the plane crashed to the ground seconds after takeoff from the Reggane base, near the village of Timekten.
According to available information, the pilot of the plane was to die in the crash, and the other crew member managed to eject.
Algeria has purchased 70 Su-30MKA multirole aircraft from Russia, derived from the richer (Indian) export variant of the Su-30MKI. One of them crashed in an accident on January 27, 2020 in Oum el Bouaghi, when a two-person crew died. Now the second plane from this fleet has crashed.
