Since the beginning of 2023, SBU employees have eliminated more than half a thousand Russian tanks that fired at and tried to break through the positions of the Defense Forces. Every day, the Ukrainian special service methodically “minus” enemy armored vehicles in battles on the eastern and southern fronts. Among the destroyed tanks of the aggressor country are the latest T-90 and T-90M, the cost of which is almost 5 million US dollars each. First of all, the occupiers used this technique as part of the so-called “armored fists” to storm Avdiyivka and Bakhmut. The invaders also brought in heavy armored vehicles to deter the counteroffensive operations of the Ukrainian defenders in the Melitopol and Berdyansk directions. The effective destruction of Russian tanks on the battlefield was the result of filigree operational-combat operations of the SBU together with units of the Armed Forces. A powerful arsenal of anti-tank weapons and modern unmanned aerial vehicles were involved in order to inflict maximum damage on Russian armored vehicles.
