January14. On Sunday, Russians attacked the Nikopol district of Dnipropetrovsk region with kamikaze drones and artillery.
Serhiy Lysak, the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, said this in a post on Telegram.
“The enemy has been shelling the district since early morning. They shelled twice with artillery and struck 11 times with kamikaze drones,” he wrote.
Nikopol and the Marhanets community came under attack. Three high-rise buildings and 10 private houses were damaged. Three outbuildings, four cars and a gas pipeline were affected. Civilians were not injured.
January 14. A man, 60, has been rescued from the rubble of a house destroyed in Russia’s overnight attack on the city of Kherson.

January 14. Russian invaders shelled Kherson region 103 times in the past day, injuring six civilians.
Oleksandr Prokudin, the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, said this in a post on Telegram.
“In the past 24 hours, the enemy launched 103 shelling attacks, firing 406 shells from mortars, artillery, Grads, tanks, UAVs and aircraft. The enemy fired 28 shells at the city of Kherson… Six people were injured as a result of Russian aggression,” the post says.
According to Prokudin, the Russian military targeted residential neighborhoods in the region’s settlements and port infrastructure.
January 14. On the night of January 14, Russian troops shelled the Seredyna-Buda community of Sumy region with the multiple launch rocket system (MLRS).
The Sumy regional military administration said this in a post on Facebook.
“At night, the Russians shelled the Seredyna-Buda community with MLRS. Five explosions were recorded,” the post says.
January 13. The Russian army attacked the Nikopol district, Dnipropetrovsk region, with artillery and about ten kamikaze drones.

January 13. A woman, 74, has been rescued from the rubble of a 2-storey house destroyed in Russia’s shelling of the Kherson region’s Beryslav.
The relevant statement was made by the National Police of Ukraine.
“Russian troops again launched air strikes on the town of Beryslav. The enemy dropped several guided bombs on residential areas. Following powerful explosions, 10 detached houses were significantly damaged. A woman, 74, was trapped under the rubble of a 2-storey apartment block. The police saw her as they arrived at the scene to document the consequences,” the report states.
Law enforcement officers from a local police department, in cooperation with colleagues from other units, carried out a rescue operation. Local residents also came to help them rescue the woman trapped on the second floor.
Medics transported her to hospital. She was diagnosed with hypothermia and concussion.
January 13. A Russian missile attack on Shostka, Sumy region, has damaged an infrastructure facility, leaving 12,000 apartments without heat supply.

January 12. Russian troops struck 47 times in 13 towns and villages in Zaporizhzhia region on January 12.

January 11. Russian troops attacked the Kherson region 108 times, having fired 482 projectiles.

According to Prokudin, the enemy used mortars, artillery, unmanned aerial vehicles, tanks, and multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS).

January 11. The number of civilians injured as a result of the latest shelling of Kharkiv by Russian invasion troops has increased to 11. Nine of them required hospitalization.

“As a result of enemy shelling targeting the center of Kharkiv, 11 people were injured: four men aged from 31 to 38 years; seven women – from 23 to 71 years old,” he wrote.
Nine victims were rushed to medical facilities and two were treated on the spot.
According to Syniehubov, a 35-year-old man is seriously injured and eight patients are in moderate condition.
As reported, in the late hours of January 10, Russia’s missile strike targeted a hotel in the center of Kharkiv. Among those injured were journalists from a Turkish media outlet.

January 10. Russian troops dropped guided bombs on the Kharkiv region’s village of Vilkhuvatka.

“The occupiers dropped guided bombs on the Kupiansk district’s village of Vilkhuvatka. Following the enemy attack, a woman, 48, was killed,” Syniehubov wrote.
Ten detached houses and a shop were damaged. A fire broke out in a local school.
According to Syniehubov, emergency services are working at the scene to eliminate the consequences of enemy strikes.
January 10. The Russian army shelled an agricultural enterprise and a coal mine in the Donetsk region on Tuesday, January 9.
Vadym Filashkin, the head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, said this in a post on Facebook
“An agricultural enterprise was damaged in Novoukrainka of the Vuhledar community. In the Hrodivka community, a coal mine was shelled,” informed Filashkin.

January 9. More than 14.6 million people – 40 % of the population in Ukraine – will need humanitarian assistance this year, according to the United Nations estimates.
This is said in a summary by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).

January 9. Russian troops have injured 1,191 children in Ukraine since the war started in February 2022.
The Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office said this in a Telegram.
“More than 1,711 children affected injured in Ukraine due to Russia’s full-scale armed aggression. As of the morning of January 9, 2024, according to official figures from juvenile prosecutors, 520 children were killed and more than 1,191 injured,” the post said.
The figures are not final as work is underway to establish them in areas of hostilities and the temporarily occupied and liberated territories.
Most children were killed or injured in the Donetsk region – 504, Kharkiv region – 313, Kherson region – 145, Kyiv region – 130, Dnipropetrovsk region – 111, Zaporizhzhia region – 100, Mykolaiv region – 97, Chernihiv region – 72, and Luhansk region – 67.
On January 8, five children aged 4, 8, 11, 16 and 17 were injured in a Russian missile strike on Novomoskovsk, Dnipropetrovsk region.
January 9. Russian troops launched 41 shelling attacks on the Kherson region on Monday, January 8.
Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the regional military administration, said this in a post on Facebook.
“Over the past 24 hours, the enemy launched 41 shelling attacks and fired 182 shells from mortars, artillery, Grads, tanks, and unmanned aerial vehicles. The Russian military targeted residential areas in the region’s towns and villages,” he said.
January 9. In the early hours of Tuesday, the Russian invasion force targeted Marhanets in an artillery attack.

“After midnight, Marhanets, in Nikopol district, came under fire. The enemy hit the city employing heavy artillery,” he wrote.

January 8. Four people were killed and 38 injured in Russia’s missile attack on Ukraine early on Monday, January 8.
The press service of the National Police of Ukraine said this in a post on Facebook.
“Four people were killed, 38 were injured – the National Police is documenting the consequences of another missile attack on Ukraine by the Russian army,” the post said.
According to the National Police, early on Monday the Russian Federation attacked the Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia and Khmelnytskyi regions.

January 6. Russian forces fired S-300 missiles at the Donetsk region’s Pokrovsk district, killing 11 people, including five children. At least eight residents were injured.
Vadym Filashkin, the head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, said this in a post on Telegram.
“11 dead, including 5 children – these are preliminary results of strikes on the Pokrovsk district,” the region’s head wrote.
He clarified that the Russian invaders hit the area with S-300 missiles.
“Pokrovsk and Rivne of the Myrnohrad community were struck the most. The enemy cynically hits civilians, trying to bring as much grief to our land as possible. They will be punished for everything!” stressed Filashkin.

“The enemy shelled Nikopol district three times with artillery. They also directed four kamikaze drones there. Two private houses caught fire in Nikopol. Both fires were extinguished,” he wrote.
It is noted that as a result of the attack, one house was destroyed and five more were damaged. A power line and a gas pipeline were also damaged.
A country house caught fire in the Marhanets community. People were not injured.

According to the Kherson Regional Military Administration, an elderly woman, 87, suffered injuries.
The population is urged to shelter immediately and avoid open spaces.
January 4. The Russian army has shelled the Marinka community in the Donetsk region with artillery, killing one person and injuring another.
Vadym Filashkin, head of the regional military administration, said this in a post on Facebook.
“One person was killed and one was injured in Katerynivka of the Marinka community as a result of artillery shelling. […] The Russians continue to use scorched earth tactics. Anyone who remains in the front-line [areas] risks becoming another target for the enemy,” he wrote.
He noted that already this morning, on January 4, the Russians struck the Marinka, Avdiivka and Kurakhove communities, damaging houses. The exact consequences of the shelling are being clarified.
January 4. On Wednesday, January 3, Russia’s invasion forces launched six mortar and barrel artillery strikes on the territory of Chernihiv region close to the border.
This was announced by the Northern Regional Office of the State Border Guard Service on Facebook.
“During the past day, Russian troops fired mortars and barrel artillery at the border areas of Chernihiv region six times,” the report reads.
According to border guards, five explosions (probably caused by 120 mm mortar mines) were recorded in the Novhorod-Siverskyi territorial community in the direction of Hremiach.
Seventeen explosions were reported in the Semenivka territorial community (13 were presumably caused by 120 mm mortar mines, and four – by artillery rounds) in the direction of Tymonovichi, Arkhipivka, Khotiivka, and Leonivka.
No casualties were reported.
January 3. Russian troops have started to drop guided bombs on border areas in the Kharkiv region’s Bohodukhiv and Kharkiv districts.
The relevant statement was made by Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Head Oleh Syniehubov during a nationwide telethon, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“Guided bombs used to be employed by the enemy in the Kupiansk direction only, but now we are recording their usage in the Bohodukhiv and Kharkiv districts. It is the north of our region, the northeastern direction,” Syniehubov told.
Additionally, Russian invaders drop bombs on the Chuhuiv district’s town of Vovchansk, which is situated not far from the border with Russia.
January 3. The enemy launched missile strikes on Avdiivka, Donetsk region, on Wednesday, January 3, killing one civilian and injuring another.

January 3. Russian troops shelled over 15 settlements across the Kharkiv region with artillery and mortars, on January 2, 2024.

In particular, the enemy shelling affected the Chuhuiv district’s Okhrymivka; Kupiansk district’s Bolohivka, Dvorichanske, Dvorichna, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka and Berestove.
Around 12:00 (noon), January 2, 2024, Russian troops shelled the Kharkiv district’s village of Lyptsi. Around 01:47 p.m. and 02:30 p.m., they also struck the Chuhuiv district’s town of Vovchansk. Two houses were damaged and destroyed. A woman, 65, received injuries.

January 2. Russian forces launched a missile attack on Ukraine’s eastern city of Kharkiv late on January 2, hitting a school in the city’s Osnovianskyi district.

Part of the two-story building collapsed, the report said.
“At the site of the explosion, there is a crater with a diameter of about ten meters, filled with water. Rescuers assume that the missile strike damaged an underground water pipe,” the report reads.
