Russian General Tatarenko Killed in Crimea
As a result of an attack by the Ukrainian military on the Belbek airfield in Sevastopol, Russian Lieutenant General Oleksandr Tatarenko was killed. This was reported by the Crimean Wind Telegram channel.
“According to the Russian public, 10 Russian servicemen were eliminated, including the commander of the aviation squadron, Lieutenant General Oleksandr Tatarenko,” the message reads.
It is claimed that two missiles hit the command post of the 38th Fighter Aviation Regiment, and another missile attacked the airfield’s communications post.
It is noted that the Armed Forces launched cruise missiles along routes unexpected for the Russians: most of them passed over the water surface of the Black Sea.
As you know, on January 31, a series of explosions rang out in Crimea. Local Telegram channels published photos and videos of rocket trails in the sky. A fire broke out near the Belbek airfield near Sevastopol. The Russian Ministry of Defense said that they allegedly tried to attack Crimea with dozens of missiles.
Russian propagandists complained yesterday that one plane had been destroyed and two more seriously damaged.
Later, the commander of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Mykola Oleschuk, thanked everyone involved in the strikes on the occupied Belbek airfield. And the spokeswoman of the Defense Forces of Southern Ukraine, Nataliya Gumenyuk, reported that five missiles hit targets in Crimea.
It will be recalled that in mid-January, the Air Force of the Armed Forces shot down an A-50 long-range radar detection aircraft. At that time, Ukrainian journalist Andrii Tsaplienko, citing data from independent sources, said that the deputy commander of the long-range aviation of the Russian Air Force Oleg Volodymyrovych Pchela (aka the commander of the 22nd Guards Heavy Bombardment Aviation Division) was on board the destroyed plane.
