Russian authorities announce deadline for capturing Kupyansk
The Russian occupiers plan to capture Kupyansk, a major transport hub and district center of the Kharkiv region, by March of this year, in order to give Putin a “big victory” before the pseudo-presidential elections. At least that’s what the authors of Forbes believe.
It is not clear on what basis such a statement was made. Such plans look frankly unrealistic, because the enemy still has to go at least seven kilometers to Kupyansk. And at the current rate of progress, it will take months, maybe even years.
In addition, the invaders have other, more achievable goals at the front. For example, Avdiivka, who is still being held by our defenders in virtually doomed circumstances. And Chasiv Yar or Siversk are no worse than Kupyansk.
At the same time, “Forbes” indicates some interesting figures and facts. Thus, the interventionists concentrated 40,000 soldiers, more than 500 tanks and 650 armored fighting vehicles near Kupyansk, and 20,000 Defense Forces… This is not a critical enemy advantage. And it is observed along the entire front line.
What is worse is that the artillery of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is running out of shells, and the number of the occupiers is only increasing. Therefore, the Armed Forces cannot conduct a counter-battery fight, which allows the enemy to wipe our defense from the face of the earth. However, this, once again, is a problem of the entire front, not just Kupyansk.
